Wow - it's been a while since I logged on this. Only to find some hieroglyphics on the walls...
I also checked ever other place I knew of to see SOME sorta activity...and nothing. I was 15/16 when I hit my first Shootyz show in New London CT at the El'n'Gee. I'm 29 now - soon to be 30 - and I STILL rock your shit!! I also picked up the Primo Gomez CD, which is incredibly tight (Primo you playin shows man???), but I still can't find this new SG album. Seems every time I'm check the MySpace site it stills says it's coming this summer....goddam I hope it's this summer!!
Listen, I wish you all the best, and if i never DO get that new CD, no worries - I still got everything goin back to Respect. And it WILL be played, and I WILL sing EVERY SINGLE FUCKING LYRIC out loud. It would be fan-fuggin-tastic to catch me a Shootyz show sometime, anytime, anywhere actually.
SHOOTYZ FUCKIN GROOVE!!

Same here. I started going to Groove shows back in the day, when JIVE was barely being played live and I only had RESPECT on tape. So many shows 94-97, at the Rat or Avalon in Boston, other venues around Beantown like some place on the south shore (one with 311 and No Doubt and I was glad that No Doubt didn't show up!). Hell I cant remember all the places but the vibe was incredible and I've never had so much fun in my life.
same here as I'm 30 now and still rock this shit. I've converted so many music fans who thought 311/etc was gods gift. No one has a clue what real rock/rap is, I still wear all the SG shirts but need a new one with the Respect logo since it's wore the F out. In college here in Atlanta, several folks came to shows, and I always pumped the music around the crib and in the car - instantly having so many folks ask "who is that? It's fuggin awesome!" and "this is dope shit!"
Last time I saw the Groove was circa 1997 in Atlanta, at the Masquerade - where INCUBUS opened up for the Groove!!! About a year or 2 later, That's also the last place where a show was supposedly happening, but someone was sick (Sense?) and it didnt happen, but shortly after that point, L Train started making the airwaves on 99X in Atlanta. SG on the radio word up!
Definitely want the new album fellas!!! Still rockin Atlanta so would obviously like to have y'all come down here and blast shit out. However I know you rock the NY/NE area much more so when I go home to wrangle the ol' man I will have to try and line up a trip with a show!
I'm with you Down-Day1, "" I WILL sing EVERY SINGLE FUCKING LYRIC out loud. ""
